This is what we have planned for 2017 season:
Each Region may award a CCY Certificate of Achievement to its most deserving CCY Member aged 12-21, with the recipient being put forward to be considered for the National CCY Certificate of Achievement, which will be presented at the 2017 National Youth Rally. The criteria for receiving a Certificate should be based on the individual’s camping related achievements. Written nominations, of no more than 250 words, to be sent to Debbie Carcary by 5th February 2017. First prize Regionally is a £100 worth of outdoor retail vouchers.
3rd – 5th February – Skiing at Glenshee, staying at Blackwater Scout Hut, 20 mins from biggest Ski Range. Accommodation & Food £25 per person and ski/board pass £25 each per day. Ski Hire can be sorted out at local hire place at approx £20 each per day (which each individual needs to sort themselves.) Limited spaces, although we can’t guarantee snow and skiing, we can guarantee a good weekend.
Easter 13th – 17 April – FICC Youth Rally hosted by Great Britain in La Haye-du-Puits in Normandy, France. Come along to soak up the atmosphere and join in the fun. Silent Disco, entertainment and fancy dress party nights, campfire and music late into the night, sports (football and volleyball), BBQ Easter meal, adventure and historical trips out, Cafe, bar, toilets and showers on site. Cost approx £250. All youth must have passed CCY test and be over 14 before they can attend this meet.
21st – 23rd April – Youth Leaders and Testers Conference at Drayton Manor Club Site, Tamworth. Full programme of events including workshops, first aid, working towards CCY test, map reading, entertainment and loads more.
27th April – 1st May – Region Meet at Strathallan Games Park, Bridge of Allan. Come and camp and join in the Youth Section. Lots of fun and games organised throughout the weekend. Breakfast Cafe run for Youth funds throughout the weekend. Youth Leaders get together.
Saturday 13th – Sunday 14th May – Jean Stewart Walk – Muirkirk to Wanlochhead. Do you have what it takes? 20 miles over 2 days carrying all your equipment – easy – not for wimps!!! Parents meet with Renfrew and Southwest Scotland DA at Lettershaws Farm, Abington.
2nd – 4th June – Scottish Region Youth Meet, Youth Leaders & Testers Weekend joining Glasgow and West Scotland DA at Strathallan Games Park, Bridge of Allan. Full programme of events for the weekend including, sports, Saturday evening BBQ and fun activities planned.
30th June – 2nd July – National Youth Rally – Hosted by Northern Ireland Region at Ballymena showground. Also on site, showers and toilets. Disco Friday and saturday night with theme of Myths and Legends. Football, Volleyball and Netball and a trip out to Giants Causeway throughout the day on Saturday and the coveted highly sought after Austin Trophy competition on the Sunday. Come along to help Scottish Region defend the trophy! £50 approx for the weekend, includes transport, camp fees and food. £10 deposit required to secure your place. Central Counties Region at Worksop, Nottinghamshire.
11th-13th August– Join Scottish Region at Dalkeith Country Park THS Scottish Region August Youth Rally. Ceilidh Saturday night in Marquee. Remember half the proceeds from this meet go into Youth Funds so please try and get along even if it’s just for the weekends.
24th -28th August – National Feast Of Lanterns at The All England Jumping Course, Hickstead, Sussex with disco’s, entertainment and fun. Sounds a good weekend. Booking required, see magazine.
6th – 8th October – Autumn Youth Rally, joining Notts DA at Nottingham Goosefair.
